The following illustrations were created using a variety of mediums including colored pencil, pastels, spray paint, ink and collage.
Given the attention women’s issues have garnered over the past couple of years, I felt compelled to produce work that comments on the experience of women from my perspective as a working mother and aging female. I am especially interested in presenting the feminine form in a confrontational way with its voluptuous power and sexuality.
All pieces have been framed with archival materials and ornamental frames chosen to augment each piece and tie the entire series together thematically.
One thing has become clear to me: I am born to do this. I am never as calm, focused, or happy as I am when I am creating my artwork.
